Moosic Mtn. Wild Co. presents

The Opening of the Manasquan Inlet

Photographed by F. Slade Dale

Restored by John Van Horn

While these photographs had virtually no notations regarding either location or dates, by looking closely at the content, it is often possible to add a lot of information about individual photographs. Pictures do speak a thousand words and in some cases potentially tell many stories and raise many questions. That is the case with these pictures and I wanted to share a couple comments with you and pose a few questions. If you have any answers, please email me at info@moosicmountainwild.com

Note the second woman from right is not dressed like those surrounding her and looking at woman at the left. What is woman at the left doing and/or saying as first woman on the right is looking on...

Right Side

These men appear to be looking down at the work boat. There is an interesting variety of hats. Can any of these men be identified?

Right Side

These boys would today would be in their eighties. It would be great if they could be identified and tell us about that day. Is that a riding crop in the hands of the boy to the left?
